Chanel aka Chay, was raised in South Bronx, NY. She also moved several times during her childhood including other New York cities such as Yonkers & Highland Falls. All her life, she was influenced by music discovered in her very own hometowns including Mary J. Blige, DMX, Fat Joe, Big Pun, and many more success stories. But now this hot new artist is ready to hit the streets and make her own path into the music industry.
She started writing lyrics and rapping when she was just 8 years old then keeping her talents to herself. After leaving audiences shocked when she hit the stage, people then knew this "little girl" had a gift of her own. Now residing in VA, she got into modeling at the age of 11, but realized that being a rapper/songwriter was her one true passion. Expanding her skills, she not only writes her own songs, but makes music for other artists and also produces them. As a teenager in high school, she tries to get her name out and share her musical ability with the world any way that she can.
By the time Chanel reaches 21, she hopes to have written well-known songs for more than a hundred featured artists and also release her own book of poetry when she hits 18.
